Common questions

Which is better, CleanMyMac or MacKeeper?

They overlap on cleaning, uninstalling, duplicates and real-time malware protection. CleanMyMac adds a storage map, a large-file finder and battery monitoring, and can be bought outright; MacKeeper adds a VPN, an ad blocker and identity-theft alerts, by subscription. Neither fixes printer or Wi-Fi problems.

CleanMyMac or CCleaner: which is better on a Mac?

CleanMyMac does more: malware protection, a storage map, maintenance tasks and monitoring. CCleaner’s free version covers the basics, junk, browser data, duplicates, large files and apps, at no cost. For occasional tidying, CCleaner’s free version or macOS’s own Storage settings may be all you need.

Do I need one of these apps at all?

For routine upkeep, usually not: macOS clears caches and logs when it needs space, manages memory by itself and has built-in malware protection. A cleaner helps most when your disk is full of files you’ve forgotten. When something stops working, a cleaner won’t fix it; that’s what AI Repair is for.

Something not working on your Mac?

Describe it in your own words, or choose “Check my whole Mac”. AI Repair checks what is going on, explains it in plain words and suggests the gentlest fix. Asking and checking are free; a fix is used only when a change goes ahead.
